Have you ever taken a photo of someone where one side of his or her face is brightly lit while the other is darkened by shadows? Your hot-shoe flash on your DSLR or mirrorless camera can reduce this problem when properly used. We'll cover the use of HSS (High Speed Sync), First & Second Curtain modes, and manual FEC (Flash Exposure Compensation). Bring the users manual for the camera and flash to class. Required: a hot-shoe flash that is dedicated to your specific camera with TTL capabilities.
