Dear friend,

The Flower City Arts Center is here for you—for artists and art lovers of all ages and abilities! Here in our 48th year of serving the community—fifty two weeks of every year! Your gift now is a critical component of support, enabling many in our community to enrich lives through their access to the arts.

Your gift helps Learners—gaining skills from regional and national artists through classes and workshops, seeing new concepts and ideas through the work of other artists at exhibits and in our studios. Artists of all abilities gain new skills and talents to propel them to new levels of creativity. Over 800 learners were served bpy the Center this past year.

Your gift enables Sharing—sharing talents and information at local events and festivals like Spokes & Ink, the Flower City Pottery Invitational, Corn Hill Arts Festival, the M & T Bank Clothesline Festival, Visual Studies Workshop’s Pub Fair and other local events. Talented established artists share their skills and their work with others in our community as they come to teach classes, workshops and participate in exhibits. We share the talents of artists and stories of the increasingly diverse people of our area at exhibits such as the Studio 678 photo club show at the Link Gallery at City Hall.

Your gift supports Makers—working artists making books and printmaking in our new studio facilities, young people in our photography club making their first prints in our darkroom, potters making work for sale through our store or through their own businesses, emerging artists in our artist residency programs across the center. Hundreds of makers served each and every day. Maker businesses spring from the talents of our students and the access to our equipment and facilities!

Your gift enriches Community—allowing artists, teachers, friends and supporters to connect with one another for celebration, camaraderie and creative collaboration. People of all ages, demographics, cultural backgrounds working together. The people of this artistic community give back to the Rochester community in many ways through their talents and abilities—and we are all much richer for these gifts!

Your gift of $50, $500 or $5000 helps us continue to be here all year round…for artists starting their careers, youth becoming aware of their options, adults seeking a community of support to nurture their inherent creativity. You help make art a strong component of a thriving community through your gift.

Make as generous a gift as you are able—to make the most difference in the lives of people in our community.Your donation will make a difference to you and to others. We can’t do it without you.

With deep appreciation,

Janice Gouldthorpe, Executive Director
