Artist Talk with Carlos Tobón Franco

Photography artist-in-residence Carlos Tobón Franco will present to the public the photographs he created during his 6 week residency at Flower City Arts Center.

“Arrivals/Departures is a project about migration, moving, desires, identities, and cultural changes. This ethnographic process of images aims to study different places, activities, heritage, and people in the area, in order to show the cultural wealth within the complexity.” — Carlos Tobón Franco, Photographer

This residency is made possible through a Transit Grant for Visual Artist gifted to Tobón Franco from the Minister of Culture. This grant is awarded three times a year to roughly 40 artists from Colombia, South America. Tobón Franco was also awarded an additional grant from Medellín's Town Hall to support this residency experience.
