While an Artist is many things, they are first and foremost a human being on a unique journey. Artists, as it is for all creatives, have the responsibility of simultaneously creating a culture and questioning culture. Art should make you feel, think and respond to the world in a different way after encountering it. Artists are healers, thinkers, and visionaries. In this series, Photography & Digital Arts Artist in Residence Megan May will take an in-depth look at several aspects of her own theory and practice of the Artists place in society today.

The Divine Feminine Principle is the primordial expression of creativity. She dwells in all of us. Recently relegated to a sidekick role as “the muse” in western history, the Feminine is re-emerging in the collective consciousness as a powerful force of change.

Please join us for an afternoon focused on the Feminine in Art, from neolithic goddess worship to the Feminist Avant-Garde of the 1960s through 80s to the present day Women of Color and Queer Artists changing and challenging the dialogue on race, gender, spirituality, and identity worldwide.
