Kathy grew up in upstate NY, but after getting a degree in Visual Arts in Pittsburgh, spent most of her adult life working as a graphic designer in Wisconsin and Colorado. While taking a break from design when her children were young, she tried painting in watercolor and found she really loved it. Kathy is primarily self-taught in that medium, with a later class from Colorado artist, Julia Jordan. Kathy’s watercolors are created with many layers, or glazes, to reach the color, form and level of vibrancy she wants to achieve. Kathy paints in acrylic and oil as well. She and her husband moved to Rochester in 2017.
