This class is an introduction to documentary photography. Students will learn about the history of documentary photography and how the earliest documentarians shaped the way documentary photography looks today. Topics such as research, approach, immersion, ethics, editing, composition and sequencing will be covered. Students will develop a photographic narrative from beginning to end. Required: working knowledge of your (film or digital) camera. Phone cameras welcome too! Students must provide brown bag lunch.
