Drypoint Etching

Drypoint Etching image
Be the first Rochester printmakers to work on the Centers new etching presses! Artists will begin by drawing directly onto a zinc plate using a sharp needle. Prints are made by placing ink inside of the rough burr that is created from that powerful tool, and running that inked plate through a press with dampened paper. The results are subtle and supple. Participants will collaboratively explore monoprinting and cardigraphs and also edition a work independently. Chin coll, photopolymer plate-making, and experimentation with non-toxic methods will also take place. Fee includes $75 for materials.
