Intaglio
This 6 week class will follow the transformative states of a copper plate, with the assistance of an acid bath. We will go over the use of grounds and their different effects in marking the plate. We will also explore the many techniques that yield a more painterly effect, such as aquatint, lift grounds and spit bites. Throughout the course, we will employ alternative ways to printing such as la poupe and chine colle to further broaden our portfolio of prints that each student will take away from class. Fee includes $75 for materials.
