This two-day demonstration workshop will provide an in-depth look into complex slip-casting techniques. Peter will demonstrate casting plaster on and off the potter’s wheel, hand-forming wet plaster, cutting and reassembling molds, approaches for simple and complex forms and systems for efficient casting through the production of a plaster mold. In addition, he will demonstrate layering colored porcelain slip onto the surfaces of plaster molds to produce porcelain veneered surfaces on pottery. Space is limited for this special workshop.

Peter Pincus has been named a recipient of a 2017 Biennial Grant from the Louis Comfort Tiffany Foundation. His work has been exhibited in various venues, including the Salon Art + Design, New York City; SOFA (Sculpture Objects Functional Art and Design) Chicago; Collective Design, New York City; Lewis Wexler Gallery, Philadelphia, PA; Duane Reed Gallery, St. Louis, MO; and National Council on Education for Ceramic Art. His work can be found in numerous private and public collections.
