Studio Photography for Teens with George Eastman Museum (Ages 14-17) image
In this weeklong workshop, students will design “living dioramas” using flora and fauna they will gather during a neighborhood walk. Students will then learn how to photograph their dioramas with the White Lightning strobe system and Lowel tungsten lamps in our Lighting Studio. Students will learn to use an exposure meter, softboxes, umbrellas, and various attachments for multiple lighting set-ups and techniques. Students will have the unique experience of meeting photographer Tanya Marcuse for an exclusive tour of her exhibition Tanya Marcuse: Woven. Students are invited to bring their own digital camera to use for this workshop or they may use one of ours. Included: field-trip to George Eastman Museum. Required: students must bring their own lunch. This week-long experience is presented in partnership with George Eastman Museum. // Image caption: Tanya Marcuse (American, b. 1964).
