Writing with Light (Youth Ages 12–14)

Writing With Light is a virtual summer camp in partnership with Writers & Books!

The word “photography” means, "writing with light". Combine the magic of photography with the power of your words. Using your own digital camera or cell phone camera and a pen and notebook, you will investigate the uniqueness of the world around you. There will be opportunities to explore, photograph and write about your world, ideas of home, reflections, memories and nature as you learn to look at your everyday surroundings with new eyes. You will spend your morning virtually with Writers & Books digging deep into the craft of writing; in the afternoon, you’ll take photography excursions around your home and immediate surroundings and document your adventures outside of class with the help of Flower City Arts Center. At the end of the week we will creatively combine your words and pictures in a collaborative book published through MagCloud!
