Founded in 1977 by Anne Beach as Cucumber Alley School of Printing, the Photography program at Flower City Arts Center (formerly Community Darkroom at Genesee Center for the Arts & Education) is celebrating it's 40th anniversary in 2017!

As we reflect back on the past 40 years of bringing thoughtful photography programming and services to our community we have our sights set on the future! What will the next 40 years look like? To help us continue our mission and enhance our programming we need YOUR help.

Our goal is to raise $40,000 by December 31, 2017.

Your donation will directly support:

  • Enhancement of adult and youth programming
  • New ventilation system for the Ball Room darkroom
  • Upgrade lighting system in the Silver Den - our alternative process space
  • Upgrade the Lighting Studio with new ceiling tracks for strobes, new shelving unit, and new accessories
  • New software for the digital labs such as Lightroom
  • Large format lenses for the 4x5 cameras so we can expand our classes
  • 6 digital cameras for new kids classes (under 12yrs old)
  • New heat resistant glass for the Omega D5s in Dan's Room darkroom
  • 2 new digital projectors for classes
  • 2 new air conditioners
